Brooklyn Brothers: gourmet milkshakes

20161112_204703

I had no idea that Brooklyn Brothers specialised in milkshakes, until I read the November edition of Get It Magazine Joburg East. I was so tempted by the image in the mag that I had to try it out. But with the much needed rainy weather, I rather opted for popcorn and movies, comfy leopard print pants and fluffy slippers…

Alas, Saturday was the perfect evening for taste testing and it was superb. As Brooklyn Brothers state, their craft shakes are cray cray with flavours ranging from traditional vanilla, bubblegum, lime, strawberry and chocolate to gourmet shakes that tantalise taste buds. This include Peanut Butter Caramel, Salted Caramel Popcorn, Lady Liberty topped with candy floss and cream cheese icing, Crown Heights – as the name suggests crowned with a doughnut dripping in caramel and the shake I tried Park Slopes.

You can see the excitement on my face. The shake is oozing thee best chocolate sauce with a shot of espresso topped with Oreo and choc chip cookies. YUM!! (Watch out for the roasted coffee beans, as it can be camouflaged as a choc chips).

I’ve noticed Brooklyn Brothers trendy stores with classic black, white & yellow theme popping up in many malls and wish that they will announce the halaal store has finally opened. The wings come in so many flavours that I eagerly await a launching date. Hint hint…

I must compliment the staff at the store in East Point. They really live up to the term excellent customer service. I had no change for the parking and Cindy, the manager on duty gave us money to pay for the parking ticket and was worried about our safety to draw money from the ATM that late at night (they are open until 22:00). She believes in the Pay It Forward philosophy and I am sure she will attract good vibes with her positive outlook. There are always nice people out there, who inspire me to Pay It Forward too.
