Kota Joe has made my move to the East Rand all that more exciting. Initially, we would go to Rosebank/Emmerentia for a treat or eat out, but since a colleague at work suggested I try Kota’s milkshakes, a Sunday evening treat is now only 10 minutes away.
The roadhouse offerings are similar to the fishbowl milkshakes served at Melrose Arch Fire & Ice hotel ranging from Ferrero Rocher, Lindt, Tempo, Nutella & Banana, Salted Caramel, Cookies & Cream, Diddle Daddle to Coco Pops (the menu is extensive with almost 30 options). The milkshakes are rich and creamy and the Ferrero shake has crushed and whole Ferreros (not good for my healthy eating plan, but too decadent to leave out). Even better, is to freeze the shake and it becomes an indulgent ice-cream.
Owned by entrepreneur Paul Figueira, Kota Joe has branches in Edenvale, Boksburg, Sunnyside Pretoria, University of Johannesburg (Kingsway Campus) & Ghandi Square. I eagerly await for a halaal Kota Joe to be launched, hopefully soon.
